Study of the Carpentry Work of the Worship Hall in Traditional Chinese Style Masjids in the Greater Taihu Lake Region

Abstract  The carpentry work of the worship hall of traditional Chinese style masjids in the Greater Taihu lake region is various and flexible. Starting with the spatial composition and correlation of the main worship hall, this paper discusses the carpentry work composition and style evolution and component details of the traditional Chinese style masjids in the Greater Taihu Lake Region. It is found that skillfully adopting local traditional woodwork technique to fully meet functional needs and perfectly display the organic combination of foreign architectural culture and local construction technique.
