Safeguarding, Inheriting, Innovating, Utilizing, and Revitalizing: The Inheritance and Further Development of Traditional Handicrafts in China

Abstract  This paper offers a critique of the present definition of "traditional handicrafts." It also introduces the tremendous quantity of traditional handicrafts in China, as well as their significance. The paper then discusses four aspects of work concerning the revitalization of traditional handicrafts, i.e. how to safeguard, inherit and utilize these crafts while making relevant innovations, and provides some solutions for fellow scholars and practitioners to consider.
