摘要： 矿物学作为晚清经世之学的重要组成部分备受关注。近代矿物学教科书在中国出现于19世纪末,清末教育改革后大量出版。本文系统梳理了1902至1937年间出版的重要矿物学教科书,考察这些教科书的内容、知识来源及影响,并结合学制演变和时代背景分析三十多年间矿物学教科书内容来源、知识体系的变化,以及不同时段教科书的特点,进一步探讨由教科书引发的对改良矿物学教育的讨论。这些教科书对我国早期的矿物学教育起到了重要的作用,国人对矿物学教科书也不断给出评价、进行反思,从而使教科书由单纯翻译引进发展为纳入本土矿物知识的自主编撰,侧面反映了矿物学教科书在中国的本土化过程。

Abstract: Mineralogy received widespread attention in late Qing China since it was considered a practical science. Modern textbooks on mineralogy appeared in China in the late 19th century, published largely after the educational reforms of the late Qing period. This study focuses on textbooks on mineralogy which were published between 1902 and 1937. It analyses the original sources, content and impact of these books. Combining the perspectives of the history of education and social history, this study explores changes and developments in the system of knowledge revealed in mineralogical textbooks, and analyses the characteristics of these books at different stages. Since mineralogical textbooks played an important role in the spread of knowledge and in scientific communication, geologists not only rethought their approaches, but also criticized certain aspects of the existing teaching methods, as well as making suggestions for improvement. New achievements and examples from China also were incorporated into the textbooks, which led to changes in their arrangement and the presentation of knowledge in them. Self-compiled textbooks also became prevalent. Through studying mineralogy textbooks, this essay shows how systems of knowledge changed through the rearrangement of the textbooks, and how these books embodied the process by which mineralogy was localized in China.
